Project MALE

What is Project MALE?
Project MALE is a pregnancy prevention and responsible behavior program targeting youth between ages 13-19 with a focus on avoiding teen pregnancy and the responsibilities associated with early fatherhood.

The Project MALE program is taught at South Sacramento middle and high schools over ten class sessions. This comprehensive unit has reached thousands of teens in the last several years and has helped to reduce local teen pregnancy rates.

Is it only offered to young men?
Originally, Project MALE was offered to young men to place special emphasis on personal responsibility. In responding to the needs of our community, we now offer Project MALE to male and female teens. Classrooms are divided by gender, and a female instructor teaches the young women while a male instructor teaches the young men.
