MASTERS Team Leader
Job Description and Summary
Supervise elementary or middle school students enrolled in CFF MASTERS After-School Program. Prepare literacy-based, recreation/enrichment or science/math-focused lesson plans on a weekly basis. Maintain contact with parents/guardians, school staff and Site Coordinator. Hours – Monday through Friday, 2pm – 6pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain open communication with Site Coordinator concerning program issues that may arise. Create and present literacy-based, recreation/enrichment or science/math-focused lesson plans to students. Interact with students to create a safe environment conducive to learning. Utilize effective classroom management strategies. Maintain contact with the students’ parent/guardian and classroom teacher. Inform Site Coordinator of students’ academic and behavioral concerns that may arise. Assist students during homework sessions. Create and maintain classroom settings that are literacy rich. Provide multiple opportunities for student engagement. Adhere to all policies and procedures of lead agency and school site.
Meetings and Other Duties
Attend weekly staff meetings. Attend citywide and on-site training. Exhibit appropriate behavior and maintain a positive rapport with adults and children. Assist in the development of programs for students and their families. Monitor equipment and supplies. Participate in all aspects of evaluation, research, documentation, site visits, and site observations. Work collaboratively with school principals to complete school related projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Paperwork
Prepare and submit thorough lesson plans to the Site Coordinator on a weekly basis. Maintain accurate and complete student attendance records. Complete quarterly academic/behavioral summaries that detail students’ progress. Maintain accurate parent/guardian and teacher communication logs.
Requirements
Must have at least an AA degree or equivalent. All staff must pass a background check and TB test prior to working directly with children. Random drug testing. Must be available Monday through Friday from 2pm – 6pm.
Position is part time (up to 20 hrs/ week) and pays $10 per hour.
